How does it work?
When you apply to join GreenGate Capital you will be provided with our private investors link to open and fund your broker account with our multi-regulated partner broker. The broker performs regulatory checks and once your account has been verified you can submit your request to link your equity to our fund. Investor funds are NOT held with GreenGate capital. Investor funds are segregated and held in German banks by our multi-regulated partner broker. Trades are then opened, managed and closed on GreenGate Capital’s master account with profits and losses distributed proportionally to your broker account.
Do you have access to my funds?
Investor funds are NEVER held by GreenGate capital. Your funds are segregated and held in German banks by our multi-regulated partner broker. Your funds can only be accessed by you. GreenGate Capital never has access to your account or funds.
What is the minimum investment?
While our service is geared towards larger investments we understand you may want to trial the system with a smaller account to start. Therefore GreenGate Capital’s minimum investment is £10,000.
What is the minimum investment term?
There is no minimum investment term, however any profits withdrawn from your account in the first three months of the investment will incur a fee of 1.5% of your current balance. After three months there are no withdrawal fees.
What returns can I expect?
Your investment can easily outperform the annual returns offered by many property investments and funds. Our estimated returns are based on our previous year’s performance*. Our total performance for the 12 month-period 2018-2019 was 134.22%. After fees this provided an annual return of 67% for investors. This figure does not take into account the effects of daily compound interest which can increase your return significantly depending on withdrawals and deposits.
What about compound interest?
By leaving your investment in your account your capital has the potential to grow considerably thanks to the power of compound interest. For example, just an initial deposit of £10,000 invested for 10 years at 5% per month performance has the potential to grow to £200,000 over ten years, £800,000 over 15 years and more than £3 million over 20 years.
What are your fees?
We only charge on profits we make you plus a small annual 1.5% management fee. For accounts below £100,000 the performance fee is a 50% share of any profits we make you. For investors with accounts larger than £100,000 we offer reduced profit share and management fees.
Accounts below £100,000: Performance fee = 50%
Annual management fee = 1.5% of equity
Accounts over £100,000: Performance fee reduced to 48%
Annual Management fee reduced by 33% (1.00%)
Accounts over £500,000: Performance fee reduced to 45%
Annual Management fee reduced by a further 25% (0.75%)
Accounts over £1million: Performance fee reduced to 40%
Annual Management fee reduced by a further 25% (0.50%)
Are my funds secure?
Yes. Your investment is kept secure in your own independent account with our multi-regulated partner broker. The advantage of this is that this is your account, not ours. GreenGate Capital never has access to your funds. Only you have access to your account and funds, we just apply our trades to it. You can check your account online whenever you like 24/7, and once the initial three-month qualifying period has passed you can withdraw and deposit money anytime you like. Withdrawals during this period with incur a fee of 1.5% of total equity. (Clients must submit a withdrawal request to Greengate Capital to protect against losses during live trading).
How do you manage risk?
Risk management and using intelligent trade management strategies to protect your capital are at the forefront of everything we do. We never risk more than 2% on one trade and will never have more than 5 open trades at one time without mitigating risk. This means the maximum exposure to your account could be at 10% during a trade cycle.
Intelligent Risk management technology is built into our systems ensuring our risk management policy is met. It automatically plans, executes, manages and closes positions to manage risk throughout all trades. It also prevents trading under volatile and unpredictable market conditions such as the recent COVID-19 Pandemic.
- Maximum risk per trade 2%
- Maximum risk per asset 5%
- Maximum number of assets traded concurrently 2
- Maximum exposure during a trade cycle 10%
You may get back less than you invest. Please take time to read our risk disclaimers here.
What is your maximum drawdown?
Our approach is to protect capital first. Therefore we strive to maintain a low drawdown below 10%, our systems are designed to scale into winning positions and use trailing stops to remove risk from existing trades before placing new positions. Our maximum drawdown for 2019-2020 was 10.3%
